Philosophy

Merle believes that the art of photography is in seeing the image.

Capturing it is the technical craft. He feels the only way to produce extraordinary photographs is to look at things with an artistic eye and be sensitive to their light, colour, composition, texture and movement.

No greater reward exists for him than to produce a photograph expressing his thoughts and emotions, and have that felt and understood by someone else.
